Saturday @ Scrub Stitchin'

Saturday started bright and early with some of the girls up and ready for Chookshed Stitchers Zoom at 6am..........some may have been waiting for me at the door to get in.......

I may have been in shock but Susan (who was having a Claytons retreat at home) was even up and ready...........she's NOT a morning person.........

Janice walked around the room showing the girls what everyone was working on..........Lovely to catch up.......some of the girls had been at SS last year.......the new girls joined us also.........

Enough of zoom as it was too hard to hear once a few more people came into the room for breaky.........

back to sewing.........

I do have a photo of this one finished but this shows the quilt a bit better........Chris only had the right side border to add on here........made from a layer cake..........

See that table to the right that was all the 

Make It, Bake It or Fake It swap goodies.........that happens at the main dinner.............

blink and it was afternoon and time for show and tell.............

Raewyn had finished her Chooky's Pins and Scissorkeep by Hatched and Patched which was designed for a Bathurst Blog Meet years ago..........

It's the cutest little project......tiny........I gave a kit to Raewyn last year.........

Lianne had her Moda Love quilt finished from last year..........

Jules had her top finished.........She started this one at a retreat we went to last year at Warwick............last time I saw it she had to add the borders...........looks great.........

Di made this one with flannels and some chenille

The girls had a challenge last year to make by the next SS..........

Maureen got this top finished while at SS.............its FPP and using some Japanese fabrics.......

I've picked it up and sat it down several times............

Betty and Stephanie made their quilts together............Betty had told us about them on zoom so it was nice to see them.........especially together.............

so many more amazing quilts........I'm sure all the girls will share something else..........

Di making progress...........yes its huge and will be king size..........she's doing quilt as you go.......

then it was time to prepare for the 🌟STAR🌟themed dinner.............

everyone out except for the decorating crew...........

the grounds are always so pretty........nearly each year we see something replaced, added, fixed up..........so nice to see when some show grounds are falling to the way..............

Late afternoon walk around the grounds to check out the sunset...........

I missed the next day as decorating but it was spectacular............

SS Nibbles and bloggers.........

Nibbles is essential at Scrub Stitchin' well anything that I am at..........

Sometimes your just trying to take a nice photo............set it up pretty.......

so we need to take a group picture.........Sadly Sandy could not come at the last minute.............

 what a wonderful group of girls.........they make my heart sing...........

we come together..........not everyone knows every one........but you see someone stuck and next minute someone will be there helping out.....offering support............

giving demos..........showing their work.........sharing skills and while we all do our own thing in our own way everyone is so willing to share and be supportive..........

you can see the changes in people when they are here........

we bring the best out in each other........

The BEST TRIBE to be part of...................Scrubbers are the best............

I am truly blessed to have such wonderful people part of my life..........friendships are forms and strengthened............its such a special bond...........

Thursday @ Scrub Stitchin'

 We could safely say my sewing pace is snails pace at Scrub Stitchin'...........

Haven't decided what I will call this quilt yet...........was thinking the zigzag quilt but then it looks a little like giant ric rac when I had it sideways on the wall yesterday................more on this later........

Temptation is ever present with the shop set up on the corner............

thankyou so much Deb @ The Crafters Cottage for bringing the shop to us.........Deb brings a wonderful mix of tempting goodies............with people coming out from Coona most days we have a little courier service so just make a call and out it comes...........If you are passing through Coonabarabran stop in to her shop..............it's right near the clock tower..............

Such a luxury for me when I don't have a shop nearby............

Mum even made some gluten free scones and the girls loved them.............

Scones, jam and cream are essential a couple of days in the retreat..........

Nibbles.........yes there is a lot of time spent at the table eating chatting and fixing all..............

everyone moves around and sits with different people each time they sit at the table..........perfect.......

in between meals at times the tables get moved to lay out quilts.........
